I'm a month-to-month T-Mobile customer with a Nokia 6133 that is on its lest leg. I want to get a phone with a full Internet browser and I'm deciding between the iPhone and the T-Mobile G1. I'd also like access for my Yahoo mail, but I don't need my work e-mail. Which do you recommend? Also, I don't own an iPod or use iTunes (I usually use Amazon to purchase music), so I'm concerned about moving to an all-iTunes environment.

Nokia takes aim at Apple with touch-screen phone
Nokia has clearly taken a cue from Apple Inc. in its design of the 5800 Xpress Music, formerly known as Tube. The device, due for release by year's end, looks similar to Apple's iPhone, which has a single panel of smooth glass on the front The similarities end there. The 5800 runs Symbian's Series 60 operating system, which Nokia said it has modified to make the software more user-friendly. The handset maker plans to release a software development kit soon for the platform. DLO has announced new cases for the iPod nano 4G and Touch 2G. The new Action Jackets and Jam Jackets will ship for both the Nano and Touch, while a new HipCase folio has been crafted for the Nano. The original HipCase for the Touch 1G remains compatible with the 2G.
The Action Jacket is geared towards sports and exercise, and includes an integrated belt clip along with a removable, adjustable armband. The clip also attaches to clothing or backpacks, and the case features a clear window for viewing an iPod's screen. The Action Jacket is machine-washable, and fits biceps from nine to 20 inches.
